I shape decision environments in fintech and write about what happens when we stop thinking for ourselves

Lead Product Designer at Migros Bank. Before that: cantonal banks, crypto platforms, everything in between.
My job: making sure business goals, user behavior and regulation don’t pull in three different directions. I map the incentives, feedback loops and decision paths until these forces point the same way.
A good part of this work is deciding what doesn’t get built. In multi-year programs where strategy, compliance and user behavior don’t align on their own, that’s the more expensive discipline.
I don’t believe in «frictionless» as a universal ideal. What works smoothly doesn’t get questioned. When money, health, or long-term decisions are at stake, friction isn’t a bug — it’s a safeguard.
Understand the system before designing the surface.
I write about behavioral economics and what happens to our thinking when machines explain.
My book «Die Illusion des Verstehens» (The Illusion of Understanding) comes out in 2026. ChatGPT explains quantum physics in thirty seconds. You nod. But did you understand?
My topic: Decisions and how design shapes them..
